Commissions of Inquiry/Royal Commissions
Commissions often have broad powers to compel persons or organisations to produce documents, answer questions or appear to give evidence under public examination. Those involved in, or required to be involved, can often find themselves subject to strict and short timeframes for the provision of relevant material. Non-compliance can result in substantial penalties. It is often necessary or appropriate that related entities or individuals within an organisation are separately legally represented.
