Defamation occurs when someone communicates or otherwise publishes material which is harmful to the reputation of another person or entity. Provided the material is communicated in a comprehensible manner to another person, this can include by posting comments across digital and social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, WeChat and Weibo.  If you believe that false allegations or untrue statements have damaged your reputation or character, then you may have an action to sue for defamation.
